There was a serious side to our visit to Cape Town and that was to take money raised by Grove students to help out Vukani School.
Situated in a large Township, Vukani offers primary education to local children. Inevitably, the school is desperately short of funds - there were, for example no chairs in the staff room for staff to relax on during breaks. The money we had raised solved this and also provided school books, posters and a much-needed piano to help the choir practice. The unmistakeable sound of that choir singing and dancing for us is something which will live forever in the memories of those who heard it.
